Development of the Conceptualization of Pain Questionnaire: A Measure to Study How Children Conceptualize Pain

(1) Background: Research has shown that thoughts about pain are important for the management of chronic in children. In order to monitor changes over time and evaluate efficacy treatments, we need valid reliable measures. The aims this study were develop a questionnaire assess child’s concept its psychometric properties; (2) Methods: This is cross-sectional, two-phase, mixed-method study. A total 324 individuals aged 8 17 years old responded newly created questionnaire. Conceptualization Pain Questionnaire (COPAQ) was calibrated using Rasch model. chi-square test used fit statistics. Underfit overfit model determined descriptive analysis infit outfit conducted identify who erratically. Internal consistency measured Person Separation Index (PSI); (3) Results: Fit good. Suitable targeting indicated which items simple answer; identified 9.56% children erratically; PSI = 0.814; (4) Conclusions: findings suggest COPAQ measure easy administer respond to. It good internal consistency.
